Sky Unveils New Sky Glass TV with Brighter Picture and Enhanced Sound

Sky today introduced the next generation of Sky Glass, featuring an even brighter 4K HDR screen and an enhanced seven-speaker Dolby Atmos® sound system. Available from 12 February, Sky Glass Gen 2 starts at just £14 per month through Sky.com.

The Ultimate TV Experience

Sky Glass is the only television with Sky TV built-in, eliminating the need for a satellite dish or additional box. Designed for an immersive experience, it features 4K HDR picture quality, cinematic sound, and intelligent Sky OS software, all in a sleek, one-wire setup.

Customers can choose from three screen sizes – 43”, 55”, and 65” – and three stylish colours: Volcanic Grey, Arctic Silver, and Atlantic Blue.

Advanced 4K HDR Display

The Quantum Dot display ensures crystal-clear visuals, enhanced HDR, and precision contrast for deeper blacks and brighter highlights. With an improved viewing angle and automatic optimisation based on on-screen content, viewers enjoy an enhanced cinematic experience with refined picture modes, including Entertainment, Movies, Music, Auto, Vivid, Extra Vivid, and Sport.

Revolutionary Sound Built-In

Sky Glass Gen 2 delivers richer 360° cinematic sound with an upgraded Dolby Atmos® system featuring seven speakers, including a soundbar and dual subwoofer. This setup enhances bass and vocal clarity, immersing viewers in dynamic soundscapes without requiring a separate soundbar, offering a 30% saving compared to purchasing a separate UHD TV and soundbar.*

A Word from Sky Leadership

Fraser Stirling, Global Chief Product Officer for Comcast and Sky, stated: “We built Sky Glass to simplify TV viewing, seamlessly integrating Sky and streaming apps. Sky Glass Gen 2 offers our best experience yet, with a brighter display and enhanced sound, all available through flexible payment options, making Sky TV more accessible than ever.”

Elegant Design and Effortless Setup

Designed to complement modern interiors, Sky Glass now features matching remotes and speaker fascia. Setup is hassle-free: simply place it on the stand, connect to Wi-Fi, and enjoy Sky, Netflix, and other streaming apps in minutes. Customers can also opt for a new wall mount, which tilts, swivels, and sits flush against the wall.

Powered by Sky OS

Sky Glass Gen 2 runs on Sky OS, the newly rebranded Entertainment OS, continuously updated with over 500 new features since launch. Sky OS curates entertainment from Sky and other apps into a single interface, offering personalised Playlists and seamless voice control with “Hello Sky…” functionality for content discovery, volume adjustments, and more.

Flexible Pricing Options

Customers can pay upfront or opt for interest-free monthly payments, starting at:

  • £14 per month for 43”
  • £19 per month for 55”
  • £24 per month for 65”

Sky’s new Essential TV pack provides access to over 100 channels, including Sky Atlantic and Netflix, for just £15 per month. For those seeking more content, Sky Ultimate TV is available at £22 per month, offering additional channels such as Sky Max, Sky Comedy, and Sky Documentaries.

Introducing Sky Glass Air – Coming Soon

Later this year, Sky will launch Sky Glass Air, an affordable alternative featuring a 4K Quantum Dot HDR screen, global dimming, contrast enhancement, and Dolby Audio. Like Sky Glass Gen 2, it will run Sky OS and include far-field voice control. Available in Carbon Grey, Cotton White, and Sea Green, with pricing to be announced soon.
