Brock Media Partners with Studiocanal to Expand Film and TV Slate
Studiocanal, a leading European film and TV studio, has acquired a minority equity stake in UK-based production company Brock Media, founded by BAFTA-nominated producer Sarah Brocklehurst. The partnership, announced today, will enable Brock Media to continue developing a robust slate of film and television series for global audiences.
Partnership Details This strategic partnership follows a successful previous collaboration between the two companies on the feature film The Outrun, which was distributed by Studiocanal in multiple territories. The film, an adaptation of Amy Liptrot’s best-selling memoir, stars Saoirse Ronan and was directed by Nora Fingscheidt. With this new investment, Brock Media will receive support to grow its slate of projects, which includes 18 TV series aligned with Studiocanal’s vision to produce bold, diverse, and often female-driven stories.
Leadership and Vision Brock Media’s Head of TV Development, Sophie Mitchell, will work closely with Studiocanal’s Managing Director of Television, Mary-Kathryn Kennedy, and her team. Studiocanal CEO Anna Marsh commented on the deal, stating, “We greatly admire Sarah’s passion for producing bold and often female-driven stories such as The Outrun which feel important and inspiring. We now look forward to fully supporting Sarah in growing the Brock Media slate, furthering her ambition to produce world-class films and TV series for UK and international audiences.”
Sarah Brocklehurst, Founder and CEO of Brock Media, added, “Having worked together on The Outrun, I know that Studiocanal is the perfect partner for Brock Media as we embark on the next chapter. We share cultural alignment, passion for cinema, and commitment to producing great stories for international audiences.”
