French animation studio Xilam Animation is expanding its presence in Central Eastern Europe with multiple broadcast deals for its new and existing shows like Oggy Oggy, Athleticus, Pfffirates, and Where’s Chicky? In the past year, Xilam has sold over 637 hours of content to major broadcasters.
For the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics, Xilam secured deals for Cube Creative’s sports comedy series Athleticus with MTVA (Hungary), Ceska TV (Czech Republic), HRT (Croatia), RTVS (Slovakia), and Kanal 2 (Estonia). HRT (Croatia) also acquired Oggy Oggy Season 1, while RTVS (Slovakia) added Xilam and Boréales’ children’s wildlife docuseries If I Were An Animal.
Céline Carenco, SVP Media Distribution at Xilam Animation, stated, “It’s fantastic to have such a solid stable of broadcasters on board who are picking up our content in significant volumes across both our newer and iconic, well-loved series.” Xilam also inked deals with MTVA for comedy action series Pfffirates and RTL Klub Hungary for a total of 170 hours of programming.
Other acquisitions include 1+1 and MEGOGO in Ukraine, RTL Croatia, PRO TV in Romania, and partnerships with Kidzone (Baltics), LRT (Lithuania), and Nova TV (Czech Republic) for various Xilam shows.
