Reliance Strategic Business Ventures Limited (RSBVL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), has officially acquired a 50.1% equity stake in Sikhya Entertainment Private Limited. The transaction, completed on February 2, 2026, involved an aggregate cash consideration of ₹150 crore through a combination of primary and secondary transactions. This move is designed to strengthen Jio Studios’ position within India’s media and entertainment sector by integrating boutique, high-concept storytelling with large-scale distribution.

The partnership aims to co-create a diverse slate of films and series tailored for both Indian and international audiences. By combining Jio Studios’ infrastructure and distribution reach with Sikhya Entertainment’s track record of culturally rooted narratives, the two entities seek to build enduring intellectual property. The collaboration focuses on nurturing a creator-led ecosystem and providing Indian stories with a global platform.

Jio Studios has established itself as a major force in the content economy, backing commercial and critical successes such as the Stree franchise, Laapataa Ladies, and the high-grossing film Dhurandhar. Sikhya Entertainment, founded by Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain, is the only Indian production house to have won multiple Academy Awards, including The Elephant Whisperers and Period. End of Sentence., alongside National Film Award-winning titles like Masaan and Kathal.

Jyoti Deshpande, President of Jio Studios (Media & Content Business, RIL), stated that the association reflects a long-term commitment to creators who blend creative excellence with cultural authenticity. Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain noted that the partnership allows Sikhya Entertainment to scale its operations and champion emerging talent while maintaining its signature storytelling ambition on a global stage.
