Spotify and Netflix have finalized a content distribution deal that will bring select video podcasts from Spotify Studios and its subsidiary, The Ringer, to the Netflix streaming platform. The initiative is set to launch in the United States in early 2026, with intentions for future expansion into additional global markets. The partnership aims to broaden the distribution footprint for popular audio and video content, providing new access points for existing fans and introducing the programming to new audiences.

The initial lineup of video podcasts spans several popular genres, including sports, culture, lifestyle, and true crime. Key titles slated for availability include The Bill Simmons Podcast and The Mismatch in the sports category; The Rewatchables and The Dave Chang Show focused on culture and lifestyle; and true crime series such as Conspiracy Theories and Serial Killers. The move recognizes the evolution of podcasting into a multi-format landscape, utilizing video to enhance viewer engagement.

Both organizations highlighted the strategic benefits of the new collaboration.

“At Netflix, we are continuously seeking new methods to entertain our members, regardless of their viewing preference,” said Lauren Smith, Netflix VP of Content Licensing and Programming Strategy. “This partnership with Spotify allows us to deliver full video versions of these high-performing shows, enriching our entertainment lineup with new perspectives across pop culture, sports, and more.”

Roman Wasenmüller, VP and Head of Podcasts at Spotify, emphasized the potential for growth. “This agreement marks a significant new chapter for the podcasting medium. Working with Netflix, we are expanding discovery, assisting creators in reaching new audiences, and offering fans worldwide greater choice in how they experience their favorite stories and uncover unexpected new ones,” Wasenmüller stated.
