The incentive provides up to a 25% rebate on eligible production costs incurred in Finland, including:

• Pre- and post-production expenses
• Salaries of Finnish tax-paying employees
• Goods and services from Finnish businesses
• Equipment rentals and facility hires
• Travel expenses related to production
• Copyright royalties and producer’s fees (up to 20% of the total budget)

The rebate applies to:

• Feature films
• Documentary films
• Serial fiction
• Animation productions

Funding is not available for:

• Commercials, promotional videos
• Reality shows, music videos
• Sports or entertainment event recordings

1. Prepare an Application
   • Confirm at least 60% of the funding before applying.
   • Submit a detailed financing plan.
   • Foreign applicants must work with a Finnish production coordinator.
2. Submit the Application
   • Finnish companies apply via Business Finland’s online portal.
   • Foreign applicants need a Finnish production coordinator to apply on their behalf.
3. Approval & Compliance
   • Applications are reviewed within 40 days.
   • Productions must comply with Finnish accounting laws and undergo an audit.
   • Conditional approvals are valid for two months.

To qualify, productions must:

• Secure at least 25% of funding from outside Finland.
• Feature Finnish locations or creative talent (e.g., directing, acting, animation, sound design, etc.).
• Have a distribution agreement for at least one platform or territory.
