Renowned Tamil filmmaker Vetrimaaran has ignited buzz about a possible collaboration with Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan after a photo of the two surfaced on social media. The image, capturing the superstar smiling alongside the director on a rainy evening, is believed to have been taken in Mumbai.

This has led to rumors suggesting that SRK might be in discussions to star in a Hindi remake of Asuran, Vetrimaaran’s National Award-winning film. However, in a recent interview with Tamil magazine Vikatan, Vetrimaaran clarified that their meeting was merely a courtesy call. “It was a courtesy call which lasted two hours. We discussed a lot of things, including Asuran, but we didn’t discuss anything about remaking it,” he stated, effectively quelling the speculation.

Vetrimaaran is celebrated for his gritty and socially conscious films such as Vada Chennai, Aadukalam, and Asuran, many of which feature Dhanush. His storytelling and screenplay skills have earned him significant admiration in the industry. His latest release was Viduthalai Part 2, and he has also collaborated with actors like Vijay Sethupathi, whose rapport with Shah Rukh Khan was notably highlighted during the promotions of Jawan.

Future Projects and Collaborations

During the same interview, Vetrimaaran shared insights into his upcoming projects. He mentioned that he has pitched scripts to leading Tamil stars, including Rajinikanth, Vijay, and Suriya, and is also reaching out to Ajith for potential collaboration.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Busy Schedule

On the other hand, Shah Rukh Khan is currently occupied with the shooting of his action film ‘King’, which will feature his daughter Suhana Khan. While Suhana made her debut with ‘The Archies’, this film marks her first theatrical release. Additionally, SRK is set to star in the spy film Pathaan 2, where he will reunite with Deepika Padukone.
