Saudi Film Commission to Participate in Shanghai International Film Festival 2025

The Saudi Film Commission has announced its participation in the upcoming 2025 Shanghai International Film Festival, with the goal of strengthening cultural ties with China, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency. This prestigious festival, taking place from June 13 to 22, is the largest in China and holds the distinction of being the only festival in the country accredited by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF).

By engaging in this significant event, the Saudi Film Commission is poised to enhance its international partnerships, promote the Kingdom’s rich and visually captivating filming locations, and emphasize its geographic and cinematic allure. Additionally, the commission is eager to explore co-production and distribution opportunities that could broaden the reach of Saudi films within the Chinese market.

Showcasing Saudi Cinema

As part of its participation, the commission will set up a Saudi pavilion during the festival’s market segment from June 21 to 25. This pavilion will feature a variety of programs and initiatives, serving as a networking hub for industry professionals from around the globe. A delegation from Saudi Arabia will be present to showcase the Kingdom’s burgeoning film industry and its competitive advantages, reinforcing its potential as a dynamic center for filmmaking and cross-border collaboration.
