Strategic Collaboration in Streaming

Samsung TV Plus, the ad-supported free streaming service, is entering a new phase of content expansion with its first original scripted content deal. This collaboration with Dhar Mann Studios marks a strategic move for the platform, which has traditionally offered a wide range of news, sports, and entertainment channels. The initiative aims to bring fresh, engaging, and purpose-driven programming to its global audience, with 13 original episodes set to premiere exclusively on the newly launched Dhar Mann TV channel. This partnership is unique for Samsung, representing their first direct “Originals” deal signed with a creator, showing a commitment to creator-led content on the biggest screen in the home.

Leadership Perspectives on the Collaboration

Salek Brodsky, SVP and global head of Samsung TV Plus, commented on the new direction, stating, “Samsung TV Plus is building a home for today’s top Creators on FAST, bringing their content into a premium, curated environment designed for the biggest screen in the home… This marks a new era where the most innovative and influential storytellers can reach audiences at scale in a way that elevates their voice and preserves creative intent.” Dhar Mann himself shared his excitement, noting this as a significant milestone for Dhar Mann Studios and an opportunity to expand the reach of their inspirational storytelling to a broader audience, including those on FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV) platforms for the first time. Sean Atkins, a key figure at Dhar Mann Studios, emphasized how this venture further blurs the lines between social video and traditional television, reshaping how scripted content reaches audiences across various platforms. The successful execution of this deal involved efforts from Tamara R., a Samsung Executive, alongside Greg Siegel and David Freeman from Creative Artists Agency, and Ross Habif from Dhar Mann Studios, highlighting a collaborative approach to this new content direction.
