Picture Shop Enhances Post-Production Capabilities in Los Angeles and Toronto
Picture Shop, a leading post-production company, is expanding its operational capacity with new and upgraded facilities in Los Angeles and Toronto. These strategic developments aim to address the evolving demands of the entertainment industry and reinforce Picture Shop’s commitment to high-quality color finishing for feature films, episodic content, and commercials.
Strategic Expansion Details
The company is enhancing its existing facilities in Burbank and Hollywood. Additionally, Picture Shop will establish a new site at The Lot in West Hollywood and a new facility in Toronto. These locations are intended to support Picture Shop’s team of colorists and facilitate collaborative workflows on projects globally.
Bill Romeo, Founder of Picture Shop, stated, “We’re incredibly excited to optimize our presence in Los Angeles and Toronto in a way that reflects both where the industry is going and who we’ve always been. Picture Shop was built on the idea of bringing top-tier talent and our valued clients together in a boutique, creative setting that can accommodate the world’s biggest movies and independent projects alike. These changes allow us to continue that legacy while scaling for the future.”
Facility Upgrades
Picture Shop’s Burbank flagship facility, known as the Tower, is undergoing significant upgrades. These include the addition of two new color theaters, a new QC bay, and a dedicated Remote Review room, designed to support global collaboration and advanced workflows.
At 861 Seward Street in Hollywood, the facility will be equipped with one new grading theater and two new color suites, increasing its total capacity to four theaters and two color suites. This location also features a Barco HDR Laser projector.
The new West Hollywood expansion at The Lot, 1041 N. Formosa Avenue, will house two state-of-the-art color theaters, engineered to meet stringent creative and technical specifications.
Toronto Relocation
In Toronto, Picture Shop and Formosa Group, a leader in post-production sound, are relocating to a new shared facility at 30 Adelaide Street East in Downtown Toronto. This new location will feature a DI theater, grading rooms, online suites, mixing stages, ADR studios, and offline edit bays. The design of the facility aims to foster collaboration and strengthen the creative community, with its central location providing convenient access to parking, public transit, and various dining and entertainment options.
Future Outlook
These combined enhancements are positioned to allow Picture Shop to continue its role in setting industry benchmarks for picture finishing, providing the necessary talent, tools, and spaces to realize the creative visions of its clients.
