The Mythical team is broadening its entertainment reach by launching on a new platform: The FAST channel.
Mythical, the creator of the popular YouTube series Good Mythical Morning, is introducing a free, 24/7 ad-supported streaming channel on Samsung TV Plus. This marks the first FAST channel on the Samsung platform originating from a creator studio.
Founded by YouTube creators and GMM hosts Rhett & Link, Mythical has grown to encompass other shows such as Buddy System, podcasts like Ear Biscuits, and channels like Mythical Kitchen. The FAST channel will feature a variety of content from the Mythical portfolio, and Samsung will also include Rhett & Link’s 2017 YouTube series Buddy System, making it available for the first time outside of YouTube.
Jawhara Tariq, Mythical Entertainment’s senior VP of strategy, corporate development & investments, played a crucial role in finalizing the deal with Samsung.
“We’re excited to see Mythical’s shows launch on Samsung TV Plus,” Rhett & Link expressed in a statement. “Since starting our creator journey in 2006, we have aimed to share our work with the largest audience possible across various broadcast platforms. Samsung TV Plus is an ideal partner for us as we embark on this next phase of growth.”
Samsung TV Plus is set to emerge as a formidable competitor in the streaming video landscape. Recently, it disclosed its viewership metrics for the first time, revealing it has 88 million monthly active users, rivaling other free platforms like Roku Channel, Pluto, and Tubi.
The tech giant has also been proactive in securing creative deals for unique content not found elsewhere, from K-Pop to Conan. Last year, Samsung partnered with Conan O’Brien’s Team Coco to launch a channel featuring clips from his extensive late-night career on NBC and TBS.
