Neon has released an official trailer for the documentary film Men of War, offering a look at a military operation to invade Venezuela and overthrow the government. The film premiered at the 2024 Toronto Film Festival and will be available on VOD next week, coinciding with news of renewed U.S. involvement in Venezuela. In May 2020, following a $15 million U.S. bounty on Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, around 60 Venezuelan dissidents, including two former U.S. Green Berets, attempted to enter Venezuela by boat to remove Maduro from power. The mission was led by Jordan Goudreau, a former Green Beret and private military contractor. Men of War combines real-world drama with espionage elements through archival footage, interviews, and prison recordings, revealing political double-crossing, covert deals, and shifting allegiances.
Men of War is co-directed by Billy Corben (director of Raw Deal: A Question of Consent, Cocaine Cowboys 1 & 2) and Jen Gatien (producer on The Girl Is in Trouble). The film is produced by Alfred Spellman, Billy Corben, and Jen Gatien. After premiering at the 2024 Toronto Film Festival and a limited theatrical release, Neon will debut Men of War on VOD starting September 9th, 2025.
