The highly anticipated action drama, ‘Thug Life’, featuring renowned actors Kamal Haasan and Silambarasan TR, is set to premiere in theaters on June 5, 2025. The film has recently completed its certification process, receiving a UA 16+ rating from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), indicating that it contains intense content suitable for older teens and adults. With a runtime of 165.42 minutes (just under two hours and 46 minutes), the film promises a captivating narrative with minimal cuts, only muting two curse words to maintain its raw edge while complying with certification standards.

A Tale of Blood Ties, Betrayal, and Vengeance

Set against the backdrop of a ruthless mafia world, ‘Thug Life’ tells the story of Rangaraaya Sakthivel, a formidable gang leader, and his brother Manickam. In the midst of a violent gang war, Sakthivel saves a young boy named Amaran and raises him as his own. However, tragedy strikes when Sakthivel survives an assassination attempt, leading him to suspect that Amaran, his foster son, may be behind the betrayal. This sets off a gripping narrative filled with themes of vendetta, family conflict, and the blurred lines between loyalty and survival.
