Leadership Transition
Glenn Gainor has departed from his role as Head of Physical Production for Amazon Original Movies at Amazon MGM Studios. His tenure at Amazon included overseeing productions such as Eddie Murphy comedy “Candy Cane Lane,” the Dwayne Johnson-led action comedy “Red One,” Aaron Sorkin’s “Being the Ricardos” and the George Clooney-directed “The Tender Bar.” He also provided counsel to Amazon Studios’ Innovation Lab. Before Amazon, Gainor served as Head of Physical Production at Sony Motion Picture Group’s Screen Gems for 14 years.
Introducing Hollywood Ventures Group
Gainor is launching Hollywood Ventures Group, a new diversified film and television production outfit and consulting firm. He co-founded this venture with Sandy Climan, who is the head of Entertainment Media Ventures and a veteran from CAA. Hollywood Ventures Group’s mission is to develop “premium film and television content, cultivating international creative partnerships and shaping the future of entertainment.” The company aims to redefine production and distribution, connecting talent, capital, and technology.
Headquarters and Strategic Focus
Hollywood Ventures Group will maintain its headquarters at the Television City studio complex in Los Angeles. The firm will also feature a strategic advisory division. This division will provide media, investment, mergers and acquisitions, studio infrastructure, and film production consulting services to governments, studios, and corporations globally. Gainor and his team plan to collaborate with stakeholders in key film territories to build, acquire, and invest in a global ecosystem of creative assets, including studio facilities, filmmaker-led production companies, technology platforms, and film funds.
Vision from the Founders
Gainor commented on the formation of Hollywood Ventures Group, stating it arose from opportunities to scale and assist the emerging global marketplace, benefiting established studios and supporting new voices. Climan added that HVG is dedicated to building the business and creative infrastructure for global, cross-cultural storytelling, keeping clients at the forefront of technology for existing and emerging platforms.
Founding Team Beyond Gainor and Climan, the founding members of Hollywood Ventures Group include Nelly Kim and Gabriel Jenkinson, both from Entertainment Media Ventures, serving as senior vice president and vice president of strategy and business development, respectively. Tejkiran Kaur, previously Gainor’s executive assistant at Amazon MGM Studios, is also a founding member.
