Stephen Nuttall Appointed Chair of IBC Partnership Board

Stephen Nuttall has been appointed as the new Chair of the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) Partnership Board, which is responsible for the governance and strategic direction of IBC. This board includes representatives from the six partner organizations that own IBC: IABM, IEEE, IET, RTS, SCTE, and SMPTE.

Nuttall brings over 30 years of leadership experience in the sports, media, and digital sectors, having held senior positions at leading pay-TV companies, online platforms, and sports rights organizations. His recent consultancy work includes overseeing media production and distribution for the 36th and 37th America’s Cup events, as well as motorsport events at Goodwood. Additionally, he serves as a senior advisor to Searchlight Capital Partners, a private equity firm. His appointment was facilitated by Spencer Stuart, a global executive search and leadership consulting firm.

Mike Crimp, CEO of IBC, stated: “Our industry is undergoing rapid and transformative changes driven by new technological innovations. Stephen has a proven track record of strategic thinking combined with commercial and operational success. His vast experience in the intricate landscapes of media and telecommunications will be invaluable as IBC and the industry it serves explore new opportunities. Stephen will serve as a crucial link between the IBC Board and the Executive Team, and I look forward to collaborating with him to ensure IBC’s continued growth.”

Nuttall expressed his enthusiasm, saying: “IBC is the leading event for the media and entertainment sector, and I have had the honor of being a regular attendee and speaker for many years. I am eager to work with the IBC team and partners to contribute to the event’s ongoing success. The unique role that IBC plays in the ever-evolving media industry remains as essential today as it has ever been.”

IBC2025 is scheduled to take place from September 12-15 at the RAI in Amsterdam.
