Hoyts Cinemas and ACE Cinemas have joined forces in a new multiplex at Perth’s Galleria Shopping Centre in Morley, expected to open next year.
The site will be Hoyts’ 61st cinema across Australia and New Zealand, and the ninth it has opened since 2020. The major circuit has previously partnered with the Western Australian independent on ACE Hoyts Midland Gate.
The joint venture will see a complete transformation of the Morley complex, featuring Hoyts’ signature powered recliners, D-BOX motion recliners, and an upgraded foyer and candy bar.
Hoyts Group president and CEO Damian Keogh said the ACE Hoyts Morley cinema will deliver cutting-edge entertainment to the local community.
“Cinemas are a vital part of the community and provide entertainment for Australians of all ages, but customers now expect the very best standards, and Morley will deliver that,” he said.
“We are excited to create a venue where people can enjoy more than just a movie. It’s where state-of-the-art technology, exceptional comfort, and a commitment to elevated experiences come together, creating a destination that the local community will want to return to again and again.
“We look forward to bringing the very best in innovative entertainment to moviegoers in the northeast suburbs of Perth, through our collaboration with ACE Cinemas and Vicinity Centres.”
ACE Cinemas general manager Jeremy Pye said he was delighted to work with Hoyts again on the upgrade.
“There has been a cinema at this location for 30 years, so we are extremely proud to be keeping the movie magic alive by working with Hoyts to revamp this space and make it the premier cinema offering for local moviegoers,” he said.
The cinema’s redevelopment works will commence next year, with the reopening expected to be in late 2026. The new cinema upgrade is in tandem with Perth Galleria’s $240 million redevelopment.
