Hildy Gottlieb Announces Retirement After Nearly Five Decades in Hollywood

Hildy Gottlieb, a seasoned production executive and talent agent who has represented A-list stars in Hollywood for almost fifty years, will be retiring at the end of February.

CAA Confirms Transition

Creative Artists Agency (CAA), where Gottlieb joined in 2022 after the acquisition of ICM Partners, announced her upcoming transition on Monday.

A Legacy of Excellence

“Throughout her career, Hildy has played a pivotal role in nurturing the careers of extraordinary artists. Her exceptional taste, strong relationships, and unwavering passion have greatly benefited her clients and colleagues,” stated Franklin Latt and Rachel Rusch, co-heads of CAA’s Motion Picture Talent department, in a joint statement. “We wish her all the best as she embarks on this exciting new chapter.”

Impressive Client Roster

At CAA, Gottlieb’s recent clients have included notable names such as Olivia Colman, Jeff Goldblum, Kathy Bates, Walton Goggins, and Michael Stuhlbarg. She began her illustrious career at ICM in 1980.

A Diverse Career Path

After a decade at ICM, she transitioned to lead Alec Baldwin’s production company, El Dorado Pictures, before securing a production deal with her husband, director Walter Hill, at Paramount Pictures.

Mentorship and Leadership

Gottlieb rejoined ICM in 2007 and became a partner in 2013. During her time there, she also contributed as a mentor in the Women in Entertainment Mentoring Program, a collaborative initiative between Big Brothers Big Sisters and The Hollywood Reporter.
