HBO Max, a streaming service from Warner Bros. Discovery, and Asian streaming platform Viu have partnered to launch a new subscription bundle in key markets across Southeast Asia. The combined offering will be available to subscribers in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand beginning in the fourth quarter of 2025.

Content Offering

The new bundle is designed to provide subscribers with a comprehensive entertainment library, combining premium Hollywood content with popular Asian programming. The HBO Max service will feature iconic global brands and franchises, including HBO, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, the DC Universe, and blockbuster films like A Minecraft Movie and Sinners. The platform will also offer HBO Original series such as The Last of Us and The White Lotus.

The Viu service will complement this with its extensive library of Asian content, including Viu Originals, popular Korean and Chinese dramas, and local productions. Subscribers can access celebrated reality series such as Running Man and 2 Days 1 Night, as well as upcoming original dramas.

Strategic Partnership

The collaboration aims to provide enhanced value to consumers and drive subscriber growth in the region. James Gibbons, President of Asia Pacific at Warner Bros. Discovery, stated that the bundle would offer “strong entertainment value for consumers across Southeast Asia” and provide “even more choice” with two complementary collections in a single subscription. Janice Lee, CEO of Viu and Managing Director of PCCW Media Group, described the partnership as “an exciting step forward,” highlighting the goal of offering a wider range of programming and greater value.

The new bundle will be available for direct purchase through the official websites of both HBO Max and Viu. Further details regarding pricing and specific availability will be announced in the coming months. Content access and features for each service will remain separate and may vary.
