About Greek Film Center

The Greek Film Centre (GFC), established in 1970 under the name “General Company of Cinema Enterprises,” operates as a non-profit legal entity supervised by the Ministry of Culture and Sports. Governed by a Board of Directors and a Managing Director appointed by the Minister of Culture, the GFC is subsidized by State resources to fulfill its objectives.

These objectives include the protection, enhancement, and development of film production in Greece, promoting Greek cinematographic art domestically and internationally, and positioning Greece as an attractive location for film and audiovisual productions. To achieve these goals, the GFC implements modern management practices such as increasing investments, attracting foreign producers, supporting young creators, and fostering transparency and efficiency in administration.
