Brian Robbins, former co-CEO of Paramount, is set to launch a new production company focused on short-form family content. The company will create both animated and live-action videos for YouTube, with plans to expand successful projects into feature films for theatrical release.

The new venture has reportedly secured approximately $100 million in funding, with support from CAA and minority investor Sony. Robbins is also exploring a first-look deal with a major studio to help develop original intellectual property into full-scale movie franchises.

Robbins previously co-founded Awesomeness in 2012, which was later sold to DreamWorks Animation in 2014. The company changed hands several times, moving to Viacom in 2018, then Nickelodeon in 2021, and was ultimately integrated into Paramount Television Studios in October 2025 as part of the Skydance merger.

Awesomeness Films and AwesomenessTV produced a range of projects for various streaming platforms, including PEN15, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, Project Mc2, Honor Society, Smosh: The Movie, and Spontaneous.

Robbins joined Paramount in 2017 as the first president of Paramount Players following NBCUniversal/Comcast’s acquisition of DreamWorks. He later served as co-CEO of Paramount alongside George Cheeks and Chris McCarthy, and also held the roles of president and CEO of both Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon. Additionally, Robbins was Chief Content Officer for Movies & Kids & Family at Paramount+.
