FIFTH SEASON Appoints David Wilcox as SVP Sales for EMEA Region

FIFTH SEASON has appointed David Wilcox as SVP Sales EMEA, marking the latest senior leadership addition to its Television Distribution division. Effective immediately, Wilcox will oversee the company’s television distribution strategy across the EMEA region and will report to Jennifer Ebell, FIFTH SEASON‘s EVP of Television Distribution. Additionally, the roles of current FIFTH SEASON executives Alistair Jennings and Travis Webb have been broadened.

In his new capacity, Wilcox will be tasked with driving sales across FIFTH SEASON’s premium content lineup in the EMEA region, leading the regional sales team and identifying new commercial opportunities in linear, digital, and co-productions. This move follows the hiring of Kate Laffey, a former executive at Number 9 Films and Paramount, who joined FIFTH SEASON as SVP Acquisitions in June.

Wilcox comes to FIFTH SEASON from ITV Studios, where he served as SVP EMEA for seven years, guiding the content sales team and leading pre-sale and co-production strategies. He previously worked as VP Nordics & Benelux at NBCUniversal’s Television Distribution division for four years, where he was instrumental in negotiating significant volume deal partnerships. His career began at ITV Studios, where he spent nine years in the sales division across various territories.

Moreover, Alistair Jennings and Travis Webb have expanded their responsibilities. Jennings, now in the role of SVP, APAC Sales and Partnerships, leads FIFTH SEASON‘s synergy strategy in the APAC region and acts as the main liaison between the Television Distribution team, major stakeholders CJ ENM and Toho, and other internal departments. He will also manage relationships with partner producers to scout new IP and acquisition leads.

Webb, now serving as SVP Sales, Americas, will also oversee FIFTH SEASON‘s global home entertainment and digital strategy, focusing on growth across DVD, aggregation, and streaming platforms to maximize the potential of the company’s catalogue.

Jennifer Ebell, EVP of Television Distribution at FIFTH SEASON, remarked, “David joins FIFTH SEASON at a pivotal moment in our growth story, as we scale our global reach and build on our track record of success. His extensive experience and solid relationships across EMEA make him the ideal candidate to propel our ambitions in these key markets. Together with Travis and Alistair, who are also expanding their roles, David enhances an exceptional leadership team dedicated to establishing FIFTH SEASON as a global leader in premium content.”

In response, David Wilcox expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I’m delighted to join FIFTH SEASON at this exciting stage of accelerated growth. The ambitious team has a creative approach to distribution and a reputation for delivering top-tier content, and I look forward to generating new opportunities with EMEA partners to amplify the success of our premium slate.”

FIFTH SEASON’s distribution operations are headquartered in London, with over 60 executives positioned across New York, LA, Hong Kong, Stockholm, and Toronto. The company boasts a slate of premium content that includes American Classic featuring Laura Linney for MGM+, the Stan Original series He Had It Coming starring Lydia West, Made Up Stories’ The Good Daughter featuring Rose Byrne and Meghann Fahy, and the new docuseries Death Cap, which FIFTH SEASON co-produced with Dreamchaser and Den of Martians.
