Zack Olin has been named Senior Vice President of Development and Current Series at Disney Television Animation. He will report directly to Executive Vice President Meredith Roberts.

In his new position, Olin will oversee the development and management of current series across the studio’s lineup. He will play a key role in shaping creative strategy and guiding the execution of series as Disney Television Animation continues to expand its animated content for children and families on Disney+.

Roberts commented, “Zack brings an exceptional creative sensibility and a deep understanding of how great stories are told and sustained over time. He has a strong track record of shaping bold storytelling, supporting creators, and driving creative excellence, and he will be a key partner as we continue to deliver beloved animated series and movies for audiences around the world, now and for generations to come.”

Olin joins Disney after a year of independently developing and producing series and films. Previously, he held senior leadership roles at Nickelodeon and Awesomeness, overseeing both series and film development and production. His credits include Monster High: The Movie, School Spirits, and XO, Kitty, as well as a variety of live-action and animated projects.

“I’ve always been drawn to animation because of its scale, its heart, and the way it stays with audiences over time. Getting to do that at Disney Television Animation and Disney Branded Television alongside Meredith, Ayo Davis, and some of the most extraordinary creators and animators in the industry is the kind of opportunity you work toward over a career,” said Olin.

Before his time at Nickelodeon, Olin spent 13 years at ABC and ABC Studios, overseeing projects such as grown-ish, Speechless, and Happy Endings. He began his career at Fox, working in development and current programming across animation, comedy, and drama, with credits including Titan A.E., The Simpsons, and American Dad!
