CJ ENM Launches AI Animation Strategy with Premiere of Fully AI‑Generated “Cat Biggie”

Seoul — CJ ENM, South Korea’s leading entertainment conglomerate, today announced its expansive artificial intelligence strategy alongside the debut of Cat Biggie, its first entirely AI‑produced animated short series.

Strategic Vision

Celebrating its 30th anniversary, CJ ENM detailed how it will integrate proprietary AI systems across the entire content lifecycle—including planning, production, distribution, and marketing—to reinforce IP creation and global competitiveness. The initiative includes scaling its AI team and training creators in AI‑driven content development.

Proprietary AI Tools

  • Cinematic AI: A unified production platform that automates visuals, audio, 3D environments, and voice, ensuring consistent narrative quality.

  • AI Script: An AI agent that analyzes market data and audience trends to generate promising IP formats and cross‑lingual scripts.

“Cat Biggie” Premiere

At the June 30 Culture Talk event in Sangam, Seoul, Cat Biggie—a non‑verbal, 2‑minute, 30‑episode series—was unveiled. Completely produced in‑house in just five months by a six‑person team, it contrasts with conventional timelines of three to four months for a 5‑minute 3D animation. The story centers on a cat who adopts a baby chick and launches on YouTube globally in July.

Future Roadmap

CJ ENM plans to expand this AI‑driven approach into feature films and serialized dramas before year‑end. A panel discussion at the event also stressed the need for legal frameworks and industry standards to support global AI content development.

About CJ ENM

CJ ENM is South Korea’s premier entertainment and media company, producing TV, film, music, live events, and digital content. Headquartered in Seoul, it is known for global hits like Parasite and Squid Game, and is pioneering AI‑based content creation.
