Horror Favorites Return to the Big Screen
Cineverse (Nasdaq: CNVS), the modern entertainment studio behind Bloody Disgusting, and Iconic Events Releasing are partnering to distribute two major horror films: Silent Night, Deadly Night and Return to Silent Hill, both scheduled for wide theatrical release in the coming months.
Silent Night Reboots With New Cast and Director
The slasher cult classic Silent Night, Deadly Night will debut in theaters on December 12, 2025. The reboot is directed and written by Mike P. Nelson (Wrong Turn, V/H/S/85) and stars Rohan Campbell as Billy and Ruby Modine as Pamela. The cast also includes Mark Acheson, David Lawrence Brown, and David Tomlinson. The film is produced by original 1984 producers Scott Schneid and Dennis Whitehead, with additional producers from New Dimension, Rebel 6, and White Bear Films.
Return to Silent Hill Expands Game-to-Film Franchise
Set for release on January 23, 2026, Return to Silent Hill brings the psychological horror franchise back to theaters, inspired by the KONAMI video game series. The film stars Jeremy Irvine and Hannah Emily Anderson and is directed by Christophe Gans, who helmed the 2006 original. Akira Yamaoka returns as composer. The film is produced by Davis Films, Hassell Free Productions, and Ashland Hill Media Finance.
Strategic Positioning and Franchise Legacy
Cineverse’s Chief Motion Pictures Officer Yolanda Macias emphasized the value of proven franchises in theatrical strategies, describing both releases as fan-driven events. Iconic Events Releasing co-founder Mark Rupp highlighted the strategic timing of both films—Silent Night, Deadly Night for the holiday season and Return to Silent Hill aligning with the 20th anniversary of the original film and the recent video game remake.
Legacy and Production Notes
The 1984 original Silent Night, Deadly Night gained notoriety for its controversial reception and was pulled from theaters, later becoming a cult classic. Return to Silent Hill follows James, a man drawn back to the haunted town after receiving a mysterious letter from a lost love, uncovering chilling secrets and confronting nightmarish horrors.
