BANFF, June 9, 2025

Bell Media, via its investment arm Bell Ventures, has committed to a strategic investment in independent production house Blink49 Studios. Headquartered in Toronto, Vancouver and Los Angeles, Blink49 specializes in developing and producing both scripted and unscripted programming for Canada, the U.S. and European markets.
The agreement, scheduled to close this fall, includes a co-production and global distribution partnership with Fifth Season, aiming to bolster Blink49’s expanding content slate.

Strategic Rationale

According to Sean Cohan, President of Bell Media, the investment “is another significant step in our continued efforts to enhance the reach of Canadian creatives and deliver impactful storytelling that resonates at home and abroad”.

Blink49 Growth Vision

Blink49’s CEO, John Morayniss, stated the partnership marks “an exciting new chapter” that will enable the company to expand its reach across scripted and unscripted content, reinforcing both Canadian and international partnerships.

Project Slate

Since its inception in late 2021, Blink49 has produced series such as Queen of the Castle, Don’t Even, Late Bloomer, Sight Unseen, The Trades, and recent projects Blue Collar and Yaga. Other titles include Wild Cards and Beast Games.
