Hulu has secured the U.S. streaming rights to the eight-part dramedy Sunny Nights, produced by Jungle Entertainment and Echo Lake Entertainment. The series stars Will Forte and D’Arcy Carden and originally debuted as a Stan Original on Boxing Day.

Sunny Nights follows Martin Marvin (Forte), a straight-laced American, who teams up with his unpredictable sister Vicki (Carden) to launch a spray tan business in Sydney. As they work to grow their company from a van-based start-up into a multi-million-dollar enterprise, the siblings find themselves entangled in Sydney’s criminal underworld, facing challenges to stay alive, out of jail, and financially afloat.

The ensemble cast features Rachel House, Jessica De Gouw, Miritana Hughes, Ra Chapman, and Megan Wilding, with a special appearance by Patrick Brammall.

International distribution is managed by Cineflix Rights, with additional sales to ITV (UK), Bell Media (Canada, English and French services), Pro-Sieben (Germany), Canal+ (Netherlands), TVNZ (New Zealand), TG4 (Ireland), and Yes (Israel).

Filmed on location in Sydney, the series was directed and executive produced by Trent O’Donnell and created and written by Nick Keetch and Ty Freer. Additional writers include Marieke Hardy, Lally Katz, Clare Sladden, and Niki Aken. Forte and Carden also serve as executive producers, alongside Shay Spencer, Jason Burrows, and Chloe Rickard for Jungle Entertainment; Doug Mankoff, Andrew Spaulding, Chris Davis, and Amotz Zakai for Echo Lake Entertainment; and Myra Model of Myra Model Management. The series is produced by Bridget Callow, with Cailah Scobie and Amanda Duthie as executive producers for Stan.

Jungle Entertainment managing director Jason Burrows described Sunny Nights as “a rare show that manages to be both hilarious and genuinely suspenseful,” highlighting the collaboration of top creative talent and calling Hulu “the perfect home for this smart, darkly comedic crime drama.” Echo Lake Entertainment’s Doug Mankoff added, “We are thrilled to once again be working with Hulu, following our great experience with their team on The Great. We can’t think of a better partner for this bold series that blends comedy and drama.”

Sunny Nights is set to premiere on Hulu on March 11.
