The Mediapro Studio Distribution concluded its participation at MIPCOM with an enthusiastic response to its lineup, resulting in a series of significant international distribution deals. Among the highlights are the fiction series Los cinco (The Famous Five) and Celeste, as well as the documentary Real Madrid: Cómo no te voy a querer, all acquired by major international broadcasters.
LOS CINCO (The Famous Five)
The international series Los cinco (The Famous Five), co-produced by Moonage Pictures, byNWR, and The Mediapro Studio for the BBC, is based on the beloved adventure novels by British author Enid Blyton. The Mediapro Studio Distribution manages distribution rights for Spain, Portugal, and Latin America. The series has been acquired by Televisión Española for Spain and SIC for Portugal.
Described by BBC Studios as one of its most ambitious youth productions, Los cinco was co-created by Danish filmmaker Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive, Only God Forgives, Valhalla Rising) and Matthew Read, reimagining the classic stories for today’s audiences.
CELESTE
Another standout title on the international stage is Celeste, created by Diego San José and co-produced by The Mediapro Studio and Movistar Plus+. At MIPCOM, Celeste confirmed upcoming premieres on Be tv (Belgium), ARTE (France-Germany), RTS (Switzerland), and SBS (Australia).
