On September 2, 2025, French filmmaker Jeanne Herry started shooting her fourth feature film, Garance. The film is produced by Chi-Fou-Mi and Trésor Films, and stars acclaimed actresses Adèle Exarchopoulos and Sara Giraudeau.

Garance follows the story of a young actress who is not yet a star. Despite her challenges, she remains brave, joyful, and resilient, finding solace in alcohol. Her journey spans eight years, filled with relocations, work, friendships, parties, and personal struggles, leading her to a transformative experience.

Herry, who also co-wrote The Kingdom, pens the script for Garance. The film is produced by Hugo Sélignac and Nicolas Dumont for Chi-Fou-Mi Productions, alongside Alain Attal for Trésor Films, in collaboration with Belgian company Artémis Productions. Filming will take place in Paris, its surrounding areas, and Soulac-sur-Mer until December 3, with Antoine Cormier handling cinematography.

Previously, Chi-Fou-Mi Productions has been involved in post-production for Alexandre Smia’s Jupiter and Quentin Dupieux’s Signaux. They also produced Dog 51, which closed the Venice Film Festival, and Out of Love, directed by Nathan Ambrosioni, who won Best Director at Karlovy Vary. Meanwhile, Trésor Films recently produced Pierre Schoeller’s Rembrandt.
