DNEG Unveils DNEG 360: A Game-Changing Partnership with Dimension Studio!

DNEG 360 has officially launched, marking a significant expansion of services in the realm of visual entertainment. This new division, operated in partnership with Dimension Studio, a recognized leader in real-time production, is dedicated to delivering state-of-the-art, end-to-end pre-production, virtual production, and development services. Furthermore, DNEG 360 boasts access to two of the world’s largest LED volume stages, located in London and Rome.

The launch of DNEG 360 is accompanied by the unveiling of advanced LED stages, which facilitate the latest advancements in virtual production techniques. A behind-the-scenes video titled “The Evolution of Virtual Production” has been released to illustrate these pioneering capabilities.

The collaborative efforts between DNEG and Dimension began with an agreement announced in February 2021, aimed at providing comprehensive virtual production services. The recent establishment of DNEG 360 broadens this partnership, extending its focus to include visualization, virtual production, content creation, and development services. This comprehensive suite allows clients to experience a streamlined production solution that seamlessly transitions through development, pre-production, virtual production, and into visual effects and post-production across various projects, including feature films, episodic content, advertisements, and music videos.

DNEG 360’s facilities in London include two distinctive LED volume stages. Stage One features an LED volume comprised of 1,600 panels, forming a 20m x 8m curved LED wall alongside four wild walls and a retractable LED ceiling. Stage Two is tailored for performance, vehicle, and volumetric capture. The company’s second LED operation is based at the iconic Cinecittà Studios in Rome, equipped with a 24m x 8m LED volume, a ceiling, and a 25m rotating platform for convenient repositioning of sets.

Steve Griffith, the Managing Director of DNEG 360 and Dimension Studio, emphasized that DNEG 360 is uniquely positioned as the only end-to-end, real-time powered service provider of this scale across the globe. He commented that their experienced team has successfully executed thousands of shots and over 800 virtual production shoot days. This extensive experience has been pivotal in refining their approach and optimizing the creative journey through digital production processes, ultimately helping clients navigate filmmaking challenges while minimizing risks and costs.

Since the initiation of their partnership, DNEG and Dimension have produced virtual production work for high-profile shows such as “Masters of the Air” (Apple TV+), “Those About To Die” (Peacock), “Here” (Sony Pictures), “Avatar: The Last Airbender” (Netflix), “No Way Up” (Altitude Film Entertainment), and “Devotion” (Sony Pictures), among others.

Namit Malhotra, the Global CEO of DNEG, noted that the launch of DNEG 360 exemplifies the company’s commitment to investing in technological advancements that bolster its leadership stature in the industry. He expressed excitement over the creative prospects and efficiencies enabled by their advancements in real-time technologies and virtual production techniques, inviting clients to explore their leading LED volume stages in London and Rome and eagerly anticipating the new projects from DNEG 360.
