The Instituto Nacional del Audiovisual Paraguayo (INAP) has announced the launch of the first call for the Paraguay Audiovisual Project (PROA PY), a strategic initiative that operates under the cash rebate model, providing partial reimbursements for audiovisual productions partially or fully carried out in Paraguay with foreign funding.
Approved by the Consejo Nacional del Audiovisual (CNA) in its extraordinary session No. 04/2025 on August 29, 2025, PROA PY aims to attract international investment, enhance the Paraguayan audiovisual industry, and position the country as a competitive destination both regionally and internationally.
The call for applications includes two categories: the National Line, targeting co-production projects with Paraguayan production companies, and the International Line, focusing on foreign productions that engage local production and/or post-production services. Eligible submissions may include feature films, fiction series, documentaries, and animations, with each case evaluated individually by INAP and approved by CNA.
The available fund for this initial edition is set at G. 2.800.000.000 (approximately US$385,000), designated to cover reimbursements during the fiscal year 2025.
The application window will be open from September 1 to September 30, 2025, allowing productions scheduled for filming or post-production in Paraguay between September and November of this year to participate. Upon approval, production companies will be required to submit physical documentation within five working days to the institution’s headquarters.
Selected projects must credit “With the support of the Paraguay Audiovisual Project (PROA PY)” alongside the corresponding official logos in the opening and/or closing credits, following the approved identity manual.
Interested parties should apply using the official online form available on the INAP website starting September 1. An official email, proapy@inap.gov.py, will be activated for queries and responses from that date.
