Billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s Jio Studios and Stage5 Production’s film “Bun Tikki,” featuring renowned Indian actors Shabana Azmi and Zeenat Aman alongside Abhay Deol, has been chosen for a world premiere at the 36th Palm Springs International Film Festival in 2025.

This coming-of-age drama, directed by debut feature filmmaker Faraz Arif Ansari, tells the story of a seven-year-old named Shanu and his single father Sidhant as they explore family relationships and identity. This film marks the second festival appearance for the collaboration between Jio Studios and Stage5 Production, following their work on “Saali Mohabbat” at the current International Film Festival of India (IFFI).

Stage5 Production, established by fashion designer Manish Malhotra, co-produced the film with Jio Studios. Malhotra is one of the producers, along with Jyoti Deshpande, Dinesh Malhotra, and Marijke deSouza.

The film also features Nushrratt Bharuccha and Rohaan Singh in the cast. It delves into themes of parenthood and resilience, focusing on Shanu’s journey of self-discovery while his father navigates grief and societal expectations.
