A brief moment of panic erupted at Madurai Airport when the security team of actor-politician Thalapathy Vijay reacted strongly to an unexpected approach from an elderly fan. One of the guards drew his weapon on the fan, who had inadvertently crossed into the actor’s area near his vehicle.

Vijay was returning from a shoot in Kodaikanal and was surrounded by a crowd of supporters when the incident occurred. The video of the event has since gone viral, prompting concern among fans for both the elderly man and the actor.

Unexpected Fan Encounter

The footage shared on X (formerly Twitter) captures Vijay exiting his vehicle when an older man rushed forward, seemingly to greet him. Misinterpreting the gesture as a potential threat, one of Vijay’s bodyguards quickly drew his gun and aimed it at the man before holstering it again. The fan was then gently pushed aside by security personnel.

Vijay continued into the terminal without acknowledging the incident. The clip has generated a mix of concern and criticism online, although fortunately, the fan was unarmed and had no harmful intentions.

Earlier that day, Vijay had paid a visit to the residence of veteran comedian Goundamani following the passing of his wife, Shanti, who died on May 5 at the age of 67 due to age-related health issues.
