Panda Bear In Africa: Upcoming Release Details

Shout! Studios and Shout! Kids, in partnership with Cinema Management Group, are set to release the animated feature Panda Bear In Africa for rent or purchase across all major digital platforms in the U.S. and Canada on January 28, 2025.

This film, inspired by a story from filmmakers Richard Claus (known for The Little Vampire, AINBO: Spirit of the Amazon) and Karsten Kiilerich (also from The Little Vampire, Ruby and Raggie), follows the adventures of Pang the panda as he embarks on a mission to rescue his best friend Dragon from a group of kidnapping lions. The direction is helmed by Claus and Kiilerich, based on a screenplay by Robert Spackling (notable for Gnomeo & Juliet, The Queen’s Corgi).

This international co-production involves several companies: Cool Beans (Amsterdam), Katuni (Amsterdam), A. Film Production (Denmark), Comet Film (Germany), and Le Pacte (France). The film was featured in the Official Selection at the 2024 Annecy International Film Festival.

Production is led by Claus and Chantal Nissen, alongside co-producers Anders Mastrup, Anne-Laure Labadie, and Jean Labadie. Edward Noeltner serves as the executive producer, with Wilco Wolfers as co-executive producer. The animation direction is managed by Stine Buhl.

Panda Bear In Africa will also be available on DVD in Spring 2025, with further details to be announced later.
