Sharjah Media City (Shams) Takes a Bold Step in Media Production

 

Sharjah Media City (Shams) has officially awarded the design contract for the Shams Studios project to STUDIOI. This initiative aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to position Sharjah as a premier regional and global hub for media production. The goal is to significantly enhance the media and film production infrastructure in the region.

A Vision for the Creative Sector

 

The Shams Studios project is a cornerstone of Shams’ strategy to bolster the creative sector by establishing a fully integrated media production hub. This development will feature state-of-the-art studios tailored to meet the dynamic needs of film and media production companies, attracting top talent and industry leaders.

Advanced Facilities for Diverse Production Needs

 

Shams Studios will comprise five cutting-edge studios, each covering 1,710 sqm, totaling an impressive 38,136 sqm. These modern facilities will cater to a variety of production requirements, including film, television, and digital media projects. Additionally, the project will boast fully integrated post-production facilities, complete with editing suites, visual effects technology, and sound processing rooms, ensuring a seamless and world-class production experience.

Creating a Vibrant Ecosystem for Creatives

 

The complex will also include 20 versatile creative units available for both short-term rentals and long-term leases, fostering a dynamic environment for creatives and businesses alike. Collaborative workspaces, office spaces for production companies, and modern meeting rooms will further enrich this ecosystem. To support production teams, the development will feature a dedicated hotel building and exclusive suites for actors, complemented by recreational facilities designed to inspire creativity and innovation. This comprehensive approach aims to boost productivity and encourage collaboration among media professionals.

Strategic Advancement for Sharjah

 

The construction contract is expected to be awarded by Q4 2025, with a clear timeline for the project’s development, construction, and equipping phases. This strategic advancement will significantly enhance Sharjah’s capacity to host major media productions efficiently and to international standards.
