IP Deals
Hottest IP [Stories, Formats, Books, Games, Podcasts] to be turned into the next big blockbuster- James Morosini is developing an “elevated Lego comedy” for Universal Pictures, titled Inner Child. The project originated from an original screenplay that was later reworked into a Lego-branded film. (🇺🇸)
- Applause Entertainment, based in Mumbai, India, has acquired the exclusive screen rights to six novels by British author Jeffrey Archer. The prodco will adapt the novels, which include The Clifton Chronicles and Fourth Estate, into premium series and films for a global audience. (🇮🇳)
- A limited series adaptation of the 2006 film The Holiday is in development for Apple TV+. The series, which will feature new characters and be written by Krissie Ducker, is being developed without the involvement of the original writer and director, Nancy Meyers. (🇺🇸)
- DreamWorks is developing a movie spinoff based on the character Donkey from the Shrek franchise. Eddie Murphy is set to begin recording for the film in September. (🇺🇸)
- Bloober Team’s horror game The Medium is being adapted into a film. Gary Dauberman, known for his work on the It and Annabelle films, has acquired the screen rights and will produce the project. (🇵🇱 and 🇺🇸)
Production + Seasonal Renewal
Sneak peak into recently announced production projects worldwide- ITV has ordered an extended third series of Love Island: All Stars for 2026. The reality TV spin-off, which features returning contestants, will be extended from five to six weeks. (🇬🇧)
- Netflix has announced a slate of new Colombian original productions, including a three-part documentary series about footballer James Rodriguez. The documentary will cover his career and his preparations for the 2026 World Cup. (🇺🇸 and 🇨🇴)
- Banijay Entertainment’s Shaolin Heroes, an adventure reality show, is being adapted for France’s M6 network. The series, which sees celebrities learning ancient martial arts disciplines, marks its fourth international version (🇫🇷).
- RÚV and ZDF commission Death of a Horse, a crime drama set in Icelandic horsemanship. The series is a collaboration between the broadcasters and producers ACT4 and Windlight Pictures (🇮🇸 🇩🇪).
- RTL is developing Highter & Wolkig, a new comedy series produced by Nordpolaris. The show, which received funding from FilmFernsehFonds Bayern, is about opening a cannabis cafe (🇩🇪).
That’s a Wrap: Filming Is Complete!
Projects that have concluded filming are now moving into post-production- Filming for series Father Brown is complete, with guest stars like Maureen Lipman and Phil Daniels joining the popular BBC Studios drama (🇬🇧).
- Filming has wrapped on the 13th season of the popular comedy Trailer Park Boys in the Maritimes. The series is produced by Trailer Park Boys Inc. and Blink49 Studios (🇨🇦).
- Filming for the blockbuster movie Godzilla x Kong: Supernova has wrapped in Moab, Utah. The film stars Kaitlyn Dever and is produced by Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros (🇺🇸).
- Filming has wrapped on Les Caprices de l’Enfant Roi, a film starring Artus, Julia Piaton, and Franck Dubosc. The movie is a production from Mandarin & Compagnie and Elephant Story (🇫🇷).
- Filming has wrapped on season four of the HBO and BBC co-produced drama series, Industry. The show is expected to premiere in early 2026 (🇺🇸 🇬🇧).
Distribution Deals
Distributors securing worldwide content across different genres, languages and format types- “To the Victory!,” a Ukrainian political satire directed by Valentyn Vasyanovych, has been acquired for world sales by the Brussels-based company Best Friend Forever. The film is set to have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. (🇺🇦)
- The South Korean film ‘My Daughter Is a Zombie,’ starring Cho Jung-seok, Lee Jung-eun, Cho Yeo-jeong, Yoon Kyung-ho, and Choi Yu-ri, has sold distribution rights in Asia and North America. Contents Panda handled the international sales, with K-Movie Entertainment acquiring the film for the USA and Australia. (🇰🇷)
- Dandelions’ Odyssey, a French and Belgian co-production, has secured a number of distribution deals ahead of its North American premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film is directed by Momoko Seto. (🇫🇷 🇧🇪)
- Jim Jarmusch’s film, ‘Father Mother Sister Brother’, starring Tom Waits, Adam Driver, Cate Blanchett, Charlotte Rampling, and Vicky Krieps, has sold international distribution rights through The Match Factory. Mubi acquired rights for North America, the UK, and other regions, while the film is set to premiere in competition at the Venice Film Festival. (🇺🇸)
- Norwegian director Janicke Askevold’s film Solomamma, a co-production between Norway, Denmark, Lithuania, and Latvia, has been picked up for Swiss distribution by Frenetic Films. The film is set to premiere at the Locarno Film Festival. (🇳🇴 🇩🇰 🇱🇹 and 🇱🇻)
Acquisition Deals
Streamers & channels acquiring latest content across the world- Ahead of its potential 2026 acquisition by RTL Group, Sky Deutschland has expanded its deal with NBCUniversal. The agreement secures films like Wicked: Part Two and Jurassic World: Rebirth, along with key franchises for its streaming services. (🇩🇪)
- The historical drama King & Conqueror has secured global licensing deals, with Paramount Global Content Distribution selling the series in over 100 markets. Major platforms like Prime Video, HBO Max, and M-Net have licensed the show. (🇺🇸)
- Movistar Plus+ and Cosmote TV have acquired the three-part documentary series Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The show, which is co-developed by Keshet International and SandStone Global, is hosted by historian Bettany Hughes. (ESP)

Cross-Border Collaborations, Joint Ventures, M&A and Partnerships!- Tale Wind animation studio has signed a new distribution deal with Canela TV, a free Spanish-language streaming service. - Zattoo is expanding its FAST Channel portfolio in Germany with the addition of a new comedy channel, Ladykracher. - Sky Deutschland has renewed and expanded its content partnership with NBCUniversal, securing exclusive “pay 1” rights for films and series in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Launch and Expansions of facilities, studios, services & technologies- Roku is launching a new subscription streaming service called Howdy, priced at $2.99 per month, to provide an ad-free library of content.
