Award-Winning U.K. Animation Studio Revenant Unveils First Look at Sci-Fi Project “Pony Express”

The acclaimed U.K. animation studio Revenant has shared initial visuals from its original sci-fi venture, Pony Express.

A dark fate looms over a remote planet. Most of its inhabitants are ensnared by a powerful addiction, pushing the world to the brink of collapse.

Iridescence — referred to as “Iri” — are small, insect-like creatures that carry a drug to which the planet’s inhabitants are addicted. The potency of this drug varies among species. Additionally, unbeknownst to many, the Iri possess historical data that could potentially save the planet.

Ventura, the protagonist, has fragmented memories of her past. Despite having struggled with her own addiction, she feels a strong connection to the Iri and believes there is more to them than just the drug.

Meanwhile, the Marauders, malicious dealers of the drug, are determined to seize all Iri for their black market value.

A sudden memory prompts Ventura to uncover the full potential of the Iri. A high-stakes conflict ensues as Ventura and the Marauders clash over the fate of the Iri — to protect or exploit them.

During one of these confrontations, Ventura discovers the Iri that contains the most potent version of the drug, intensifying the significance of her mission.
