Exciting Leadership Transition at Prime Video

Prime Video is thrilled to announce the appointment of Nicole Clemens as the new Vice President and Head of International Originals for both Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, effective July 7. This news was shared by Kelly Day, Vice President of Prime Video International.

A Proven Track Record in Content Development

Clemens joins the streaming powerhouse from Paramount Television Studios, where she excelled as president, playing a pivotal role in the creation and production of several acclaimed series, including Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, Reacher, and Cross, many of which are now available on Prime Video. Additionally, she served as the President of Original Scripted Series for Paramount+, significantly contributing to the platform’s launch programming strategy.

Leading Global Content Development

In her new role, Clemens will spearhead the development and production of original films and television series across over 20 global territories, serving Prime Video’s extensive audience of more than 200 million Prime members worldwide. She will manage teams located in Europe, Latin America, and Asia Pacific.

Strategic Growth in Global Content

Clemens’ appointment aligns with Prime Video’s strategy to enhance its global content offerings. According to Day, the platform released over 140 international original series and films last year, marking its highest output to date.

Operational Leadership and Team Structure

Clemens will begin her journey at Amazon MGM Studios’ headquarters in Culver City before transitioning to Prime Video’s office in London. She will directly oversee the international originals leadership team, which includes Javiera Balmaceda (Latin America, Canada & Australia), Tara Erer (Northern Europe), Nicole Morganti (Southern Europe), and John Holmes (production and post-production).

Collaboration and Support Structure

Nikhil Madhok, who leads international originals in India, will continue to report to Gaurav Gandhi, Vice President of Prime Video for APAC and MENA, while remaining part of Clemens’ leadership team. Additionally, Marc Hausmaninger (content strategy) and Sam Semon (business affairs) will provide essential support to the division.

A Wealth of Experience in Scripted Content

Clemens brings a rich background in scripted content development, having previously served as Executive Vice President and Head of Series Development at FX Networks. During her tenure, she oversaw critically acclaimed series such as Atlanta, Snowfall, Better Things, and Mayans M.C., solidifying her reputation as a leading creative force in the industry.
