Nvidia has unveiled DLSS 4, introducing substantial AI-driven enhancements for the GeForce RTX 50 Series graphics cards and laptops. This latest update, featuring DLSS Multi Frame Generation, is designed to provide performance improvements, enhanced image quality, and smoother gameplay across a variety of popular titles.

DLSS 4 represents the most significant AI model upgrade since DLSS 2.0 in 2020, leveraging transformer-based technology—the same architecture that powers advanced AI models like ChatGPT and Gemini. This innovation enhances DLSS Super Resolution, DLSS Ray Reconstruction, and DLAA, resulting in improved temporal stability, minimized ghosting, and sharper motion detail.

With DLSS Multi Frame Generation, Nvidia’s AI can now produce up to three additional frames for each traditionally rendered frame, achieving up to an 8X performance boost compared to conventional rendering techniques. This breakthrough enables 4K 240 FPS gaming with full ray tracing capabilities on the new GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card.

DLSS 4 is now available in over 75 games and applications, with major titles such as Alan Wake 2, Cyberpunk 2077, Hogwarts Legacy, and Star Wars Outlaws receiving significant enhancements. Upcoming releases like DOOM: The Dark Ages, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance II will also incorporate DLSS 4 for optimized performance.

Beyond gaming advancements, Nvidia has rolled out an updated GeForce Game Ready Driver and a revamped Nvidia app. This app now enables users to activate DLSS 4 overrides for enhanced image quality across all GeForce RTX GPUs, while also introducing new AI-powered features in Nvidia Broadcast, including Studio Voice for improved microphone audio and Virtual Key Light for better video lighting.
