Leading production companies in the Philippines, GMA Network and CreaZion Studios, are collaborating with regional streaming platform Viu on the highly anticipated drama series Beauty Empire. This exciting project features a talented cast, including Barbie Forteza, Kyline Alcantara, Ruffa Gutierrez, and Gloria Diaz.

Directed by Mark Sicat Dela Cruz and crafted by filmmaker Real Florido alongside screenwriter Rona Co, this series delves into the fiercely competitive landscape of the Philippines’ beauty industry. The cast showcases two generations of former beauty queens, with Gutierrez being crowned Miss World Second Princess in 1993 and Diaz as Miss Universe in 1969.

The female-led cast is complemented by a robust male ensemble, featuring Sam Concepcion and Sid Lucero, along with the introduction of Korean actor and K-pop sensation Choi Bo Min.

The narrative follows the journey of Noreen Alfonso (Barbie Forteza), a rags-to-riches CEO seeking vengeance against those who have wronged her. She aims to establish herself as a formidable player in the beauty industry, determined to dismantle the empire built by her adversaries.

Alfonso faces off against the brash yet popular CEO on social media, Shari de Jesus (Kyline Alcantara), who is under the mentorship of the influential industry veteran, Velma Imperial (Ruffa Gutierrez). As they engage in a fierce battle on social media, it becomes clear that an unseen force is orchestrating the chaos amidst the ongoing beauty wars.

The series was officially announced during a contract signing ceremony attended by key figures, including Vinchi Sy-Quia, Country Manager of Viu Philippines, Garlic Garcia, Creative Content Officer, Annette Gozon-Valdes, President and CEO of GMA Films, and Anter “RJ” San Agustin, CEO of CreaZion Studios, along with Real Florido, Executive Vice President & Chief Creative Officer.

Viu has previously produced several successful series in partnership with GMA Network, including Unbreak My Heart, and has also acquired GMA shows for regional streaming.

CreaZion’s portfolio includes the upcoming true-crime series Severino: The First Serial Killer, starring Dolly De Leon and Dennis Trillo, as well as the feature film Everything About My Wife, a remake of the Argentinian hit Un Novio Para Mi Mujer, which has recently been released in the Philippines and the Middle East.
