GKIDS has secured the North American theatrical distribution rights for Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-, set to premiere in theaters on February 28. This agreement, forged between GKIDS and Bandai Namco Filmworks, marks an exciting first collaboration between these two industry players.

The film is a product of a remarkable partnership between EVANGELION creator Hideaki Anno’s studio khara and Sunrise, the powerhouse behind the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise. This collaboration boasts an impressive lineup of top-tier animation talent. Directed by Kazuya Tsurumaki, known for his work on EVANGELION and FLCL, the project also features Yoji Enokido, a seasoned series supervisor and screenwriter, who collaborates with Anno on the screenplay.

Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- re-edits episodes from the forthcoming series Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX. The film made its debut in Japan on January 17, generating significant buzz within the anime community.

Character design is in the capable hands of illustrator Take, renowned for his work on Katanagatari, Zaregoto, and the Pokemon series. Mechanical design is led by Ikuto Yamashita, celebrated for his contributions to EVANGELION and Shin Kamen Rider.
