Exclusive UK Dramas Headline Foxtel–Sony Pictures TV Partnership

Foxtel has renewed its multi‑year content agreement with Sony Pictures Television (SPT), extending their 20‑year partnership. Under the refreshed deal, Foxtel’s streaming platform, Binge, will receive exclusive first-run access to high-profile UK dramas.

Partnership Details

The renewed agreement, building on two decades of collaboration, grants Binge Australian exclusivity for upcoming UK titles. Launches expected in 2026 include:

• The Lady (Left Bank Pictures) starring Natalie Dormer

• Dear England, a football drama starring Joseph Fiennes

• The Other Bennet Sister, a 10‑part series from Bad Wolf

Additionally, the deal covers complete seasons of several well‑known series such as Community, The Nanny, The Shield, Hannibal, The Good Doctor and more.

Strategic Significance

This deal cements Foxtel’s position in attracting UK drama viewers and distinguishes Binge from competitors. It represents a strategic move to offer premium, first-run content ahead of rival services.

Industry Context

The announcement comes shortly after streaming rival Stan renewed its own agreement with SPT for first-run US scripted dramas—a partnership that began over a decade ago—signalling intensified competition in content acquisition.
