Film London Opens Applications for 2025 Production Finance Market

Film London has opened applications for the 2025 Production Finance Market (PFM), set to take place on 7 and 8 October at The Thistle, Marble Arch, during the BFI London Film Festival.

A Hub for Global Independent Film Financing

Now in its 19th year, the PFM facilitates one-to-one meetings between international filmmakers and financiers, offering a structured environment to foster new investment and partnerships. The event is supported by the Department for Business and Trade, the Mayor of London, and the British Film Institute, which provides National Lottery funding.

Eligibility and Project Categories

PFM 2025 includes two strands:

  • The main strand, for feature film projects—including animation—from experienced producers with budgets over €1 million.

  • The New Talent strand, focused on debut feature filmmakers. Documentaries and films from diverse voices are especially encouraged to apply.

Application Deadline and Impact

Applications close on 7 July 2025.

The 2024 edition featured 61 projects with a total production value of approximately €290.38 million. It hosted over 190 delegates from 12 countries and facilitated 862 meetings. Several participating projects secured offers and financing post-event.

Endorsement from Film London

Adrian Wootton OBE, CEO of Film London, stated:
“Independent films are an essential part of the UK production ecosystem, providing the space to air fresh voices… PFM is perfectly situated to foster conversations and stimulate more international investment and international co-production for some truly great projects.”

Continued International Partnerships

PFM 2025 will maintain relationships with key international organisations, including EAVE, Melbourne’s screen industry, Hessen Film, The Netherlands Film Commission, IFF@TIFF/Ontario Creates, Tallinn Black Nights, and South Africa’s National Film & Video Foundation. More partnerships are expected to be announced.

Support for Emerging Talent

New Talent applicants can attend weekly PFM Roundtable Zoom sessions, held every Tuesday at 2 p.m. throughout the application window. These sessions are designed to assist with application queries.
