e&, a leading global technology group, has partnered with IBM to roll out a comprehensive, multi-model Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI governance solution. This collaboration was unveiled at the World Economic Forum 2025 in Davos, aiming to strengthen e&’s AI governance framework, ensuring compliance, oversight, and ethical practices throughout its expanding AI ecosystem. This initiative underscores e&’s dedication to establishing a solid governance, risk management, and regulatory oversight framework for its AI applications.

The solution will harness IBM’s watsonx.governance enterprise AI and data governance platform, complemented by IBM Consulting’s expertise in AI implementation. This partnership builds on e&’s commitment to scaling AI responsibly while tracking ROI and addressing compliance, transparency, and ethical oversight of AI models.

This collaboration will leverage IBM’s globally recognized toolkit for AI governance to tackle critical challenges such as maintaining consistent oversight of e&’s AI systems, managing risks related to non-compliance, ethical concerns, and monitoring AI performance at scale. As e& continues to advance its ambitious AI strategy and capabilities, it is proactively enhancing its AI ecosystem by establishing a robust accountability framework, mitigating potential biases, and ensuring data protection.

The new AI governance solution introduces sophisticated features such as automated risk management, compliance monitoring, and real-time performance analysis. This will empower e& to mitigate risks, identify biases, and meet regulatory standards throughout the entire AI model lifecycle—from development to decommissioning.

Dena Almansoori, Group Chief AI and Data Officer at e&, stated: “As AI continues to revolutionize industries, responsible governance is essential. At e&, we are committed to leading by example and setting a global standard for robust AI governance practices. By adopting IBM watsonx.governance, we are making a significant advancement in our AI journey. This collaboration guarantees transparency, explainability, and efficiency across our AI operations, elevating the standards for AI governance in the industry.”

The governance solution is designed to enable e& to monitor current AI use cases in real-time, proactively manage potential AI risks in production, and deliver measurable value to stakeholders.

By creating a centralized inventory of AI models, the solution ensures full traceability and oversight. IBM watsonx.governance allows for dynamic monitoring, providing real-time insights into model performance, risk scoring, and compliance metrics. This capability enables e& to detect issues like bias and drift early, facilitating corrective actions and ethical AI practices.

IBM Consulting will collaborate closely with e& to design and implement a comprehensive AI governance framework tailored to e&’s specific needs. This includes defining workflows, key performance indicators, and onboarding existing AI models onto the platform to provide real-time insights into AI’s value, impact, and potential risks.

The deployment will also utilize IBM Consulting Advantage, an AI-powered delivery platform, to expedite the development of the AI governance framework through persona and journey mapping, market research, architecture patterns for AI integration, and knowledge transfer materials.

Shukri Eid, General Manager for Gulf, Levant & Pakistan at IBM, added: “IBM watsonx empowers organizations like e& to navigate the complexities of AI governance. By integrating automation, real-time monitoring, and centralized oversight, we are addressing key governance challenges and mitigating risks associated with AI. This milestone strengthens our long-standing partnership with e& and serves as a catalyst for responsible AI innovation.”

This collaboration builds on the existing relationship between IBM and e&, including a recent joint report titled “MENA’s AI Advantage: Opportunity to Leap Ahead and Lead,” which features insights from top Middle Eastern businesses and data from IBM’s CEO study. The report highlights five critical themes that reveal regional nuances for CEOs to consider as they prepare their organizations to seize the AI opportunity, emphasizing the importance of advocating for trustworthy AI.
