Shinichi ‘Sam’ Yoshida will take on his new role as President and CEO of Canon EMEA starting March 1, 2025.
Canon EMEA has officially announced the appointment of Shinichi ‘Sam’ Yoshida as the new President and CEO for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), effective March 1, 2025. He will be succeeding Yuichi Ishizuka, who is retiring after an impressive 44-year tenure with Canon, including seven years at the helm of the EMEA region.
Before this appointment, Yoshida was stationed in the United States, where he held the positions of Executive Vice President & General Manager of the Marketing Strategy Unit, as well as Chairman and CEO of Canon Solutions America, Inc. and Canon Financial Services, Inc.
In his new capacity, Yoshida will manage Canon EMEA’s extensive regional sales organization, which spans 120 countries, employs approximately 12,300 individuals, and contributes about a quarter of Canon’s global revenue. His leadership will prioritize enhancing the company’s core business while utilizing Canon’s expertise in imaging and printing technology to venture into emerging sectors such as B2B Imaging, Industrial and Commercial Printing, and Information Management Solutions.
With a solid background in manufacturing, innovation, and sustainability, Yoshida was instrumental in establishing Canon Virginia, Inc., a pivotal manufacturing hub in the Americas.
Reflecting on his new role, Yoshida stated: “Canon is the market leader in imaging and print technologies with millions of customers throughout EMEA. This diverse and exciting region is full of opportunities, and I am honored to lead the business into the next phase of innovation and growth.”
Yuichi Ishizuka, the outgoing President and CEO of Canon EMEA, has held several significant leadership roles globally, including in Japan, the United States, and Canada. Among his notable contributions was the successful launch of the Cinema EOS range in the US.
