The Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) is Calling All Filmmakers!

We are excited to announce that submissions for the 46th edition of the Cairo International Film Festival are now open! This prestigious event will take place from November 12 to 21, 2025. Filmmakers are encouraged to submit their works via the festival’s website, with the submission period running from April 20 to August 1. Remember, the early bird period is available until May 31.

Festival President and renowned actor Hussein Fahmy expressed his enthusiasm, stating: “We are thrilled to open submissions for the 46th edition of the Cairo International Film Festival. We eagerly anticipate receiving innovative and diverse films that showcase unique cinematic perspectives and a variety of cultures. Cinema is a universal language, and our festival serves as a vital platform for artistic exchange and creative dialogue between filmmakers and audiences.”

Preparations Underway

Artistic Director Mohamed Tarek confirmed that preparations for this year’s edition are already in full swing. He remarked: “We started early to ensure this edition stands out. Each year, the submissions unveil exceptional talents, cinematic discoveries, and promising new voices from around the globe.”

A Prestigious Recognition

The Cairo International Film Festival holds a prestigious Category A accreditation and is the only festival in the Arab world and Africa officially recognized by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF).
