‘All That’s Left of You’ is a historical drama that explores the journey of a family across three generations, focusing on the transmission of trauma through time.

Supported by the Red Sea Film Foundation, All That’s Left of You is the latest feature from Palestinian American filmmaker Cherien Dabis, set to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival from January 18 to 28, 2025.

The film intricately weaves the narrative of a Palestinian family over 75 years, highlighting themes of displacement, occupation, and resilience. It begins with the forced exile from Jaffa in 1948 and examines the cycles of trauma, violence, and heartbreak that lead to the contemporary struggles faced in the West Bank.

The plot centers on a Palestinian teenager who stands up to Israeli soldiers during a protest in the West Bank. His mother reflects on the pivotal events that have influenced his life, tracing back to his grandfather’s displacement decades prior.

This film marks Dabis’s third feature, following her previous works Amreeka (2009) and May in the Summer (2013), both of which also debuted at Sundance. The cast includes Dabis, Saleh Bakri, Adam Bakri, Mohammad Bakri, Maria Zreik, and Muhammad Abed Elrahman.

All That’s Left of You will be screened six times during the Sundance Film Festival on January 25, 26, 27, 28, 30, and February 1.
