Warner Bros. Pictures Animation has announced the release date for DC Studios’ animated Batman-verse film Dynamic Duo, focusing on the origins of Robins Dick Grayson (later Nightwing) and Jason Todd (Red Hood). This collaboration between the two studios will premiere in IMAX on June 30, 2028.

Created in partnership with L.A.-based puppet animation company Swaybox Studios and Matt Reeves’ 6th & Idaho, the movie will be a mixed media action film combining animation, puppetry, and CG. The story, written by Matthew Aldrich, explores the friendship between Grayson and Todd as their visions for the future diverge.

Aldrich, known for his work on Pixar’s Coco and Lightyear, is credited with the screenplay. Dynamic Duo is directed by Swaybox co-founder Arthur Mintz and produced by Theresa Andersson, Reeves, and Lynn Harris.

Warner and DC have also confirmed a standalone live-action Clayface movie, with Mike Flanagan writing the screenplay. The horror-thriller is set to hit theaters on September 11, 2026, preceding an appearance by the villain in The Batman Part II on October 6, 2026.

Other upcoming releases from DC Studios include James Gunn’s Superman (July 11, 2025), Craig Gillespie’s Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow (June 26, 2026), and two untitled films (May 29, 2026 and March 5, 2027).
