Denmark Unveils 25% Production Rebate to Boost Domestic and International Film Projects

Overview

Denmark will introduce a 25 % rebate on eligible production costs starting in 2026. With an annual budget of €17 million (approx. 127 million DKK), the initiative aims to attract international productions and support significant Danish creative projects.

Objectives

The scheme targets two primary goals:

  1. Strengthen Denmark’s role as a global cultural and storytelling hub.

  2. Boost associated economic activity, benefiting sectors from hospitality to set construction.

Rebate Details & Eligibility

  • A 25 % refund on qualifying in-country expenses.

  • Minimum total budgets:

    • Feature films: 25 million DKK

    • Documentaries: 4 million DKK

    • Drama series: 15 million DKK (150,000 DKK per minute minimum)

Separate criteria apply for live-action, animation, and documentaries.
