Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah and Supreme Council Member, has approved the creation of a large, unified government media hub. This new complex will bring together several key media organizations, including the Sharjah Media Council, Sharjah Government Media Bureau, Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, and Sharjah Media City (Shams), which will serve as the headquarters for the development.

The project centers on building one of the region’s largest government media complexes, featuring five advanced studios ranging from 1,500 to 3,400 square meters. These studios are designed for film, television, drama, and digital content production, and will include specialized post-production suites with modern editing tools, visual effects units, and sound design facilities. The hub aims to support television and film projects to international standards, further strengthening Sharjah’s media sector.

The expansion also includes a new building for the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, equipped with updated technical infrastructure to improve broadcasting operations. The first phase will feature the main administrative building, a dedicated news building, and a facility for Sharjah Sports Channel.

Another key feature is the introduction of the Shams Creative Oasis, a center for cultural, artistic, and educational activities. This space will offer a modern theatre with 700 seats, as well as areas for community events, performances, and training programs to support local talent and expand creative opportunities across Sharjah.

  • Shams Studios will provide 9,600 square meters of purpose-built stages for large-scale productions.
  • The studios are designed to attract international film and content creators, offering year-round filming conditions and a supportive creative environment.
  • The initiative aims to position Sharjah as a global hub for film and content creation, supporting both established and emerging storytellers in the region.
