waipu.tv and Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) have formed a partnership to bring HBO Max to Germany. As an official launch partner, waipu.tv will integrate HBO Max directly into its platform when the service becomes available in the country on January 13th.

Subscribers will have access to a wide range of HBO Max content, including the upcoming Game of Thrones prequel A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms (premiering January 19th), as well as popular series like The White Lotus, Euphoria, It: Welcome to Derry, and The Last of Us. The platform will also feature classic shows such as Sex and the City and Friends, along with blockbuster films including Weapons, Sinners, Superman, and the Harry Potter collection.

Markus Härtenstein, Co-CEO of Exaring AG, stated, “Our aspiration is to make television and streaming as simple and attractive as possible. With HBO Max, we bundle even more first-class content in one place for our customers.”

Matthias Heinze, SVP Commercial & Managing Director WBD Germany, Switzerland & Austria, added, “Our long-term goal is to make the incredibly diverse and high-quality content of HBO Max accessible to as many viewers as possible. The partnership with waipu.tv is an important part of this.”

The combined subscription for HBO Max and waipu.tv Perfect Plus will be available at a bundled price of €17.99 per month, offering a cost advantage compared to subscribing to each service separately.

This announcement comes as other platforms, including RTL+, have also revealed plans to be launch partners for HBO Max in Germany.
